March Remembrances

March 1, 1991
Lieutenant Gregory Principe and Sergeant Ernest DeCross were killed in a vehicle crash while pursuing a vehicle being driven by a 16-year-old juvenile.
March 4, 1977
Fitchburg Firefighter John T. Cetrino of Engine 5 who died in 1977 at the age of 33. The John T. Centrino Memorial Drive, formerly known as Fifth Street, was named in his honor.
March 4, 1985
Belmont Firefighter Roland Weatherbee collapsed during a 1-alarm fire. He was brought to a nearby hospital where he passed away.
March 5, 1975
Shrewsbury Patrolman James Lonchiadis was shot and killed when he interrupted an auto theft in progress at the Worcester City Motel on Route 9. Patrolman. Leaving behind a wife and 2 children.
March 6, 1964
Boston Police Patrolman Lynch was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean War. Lynch succumbed to injuries sustained five days earlier. He was survived by his wife, and two children.
March 16, 2016
Massachusetts State Trooper  Thomas L. Clardy, an 11-year veteran of the MA State Police was killed in the line of duty while conducting a traffic stop on the Mass Pike in Charlton. He was a U.S. Army & U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He leaves behind his wife and six children.
March 17, 2017
Watertown Firefighter Joseph Toscano was a 20-year veteran firefighter of the Department and was working an active fire when he collapsed. He leaves behind a wife and 5 children.
March 26, 2014
Boston Firefighters Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh, 43, of West Roxbury, and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33, of Hyde Park died in the nine-alarm beacon street blaze in Boston’s Back Bay. Lt. Walsh leaves behind a wife and 3 children.
March 23, 1989
Braintree Fire Fighter, Joseph A. Graziano died of a heart attack after responding to a fire. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and leaves behind a wife and 2 daughters.
March 26, 1983
Beverly Firefighter Robert McPherson died of a heart attack. He left a legacy of public service and dedication to his family and community.
March 27, 1985
 Billerica Patrolman Thomas Strunk was killed when he was dragged by a drunk driver while he attempted to turn off the ignition of the vehicle. He was posthumously awarded the George L. Hanna award for bravery. he leaves behind a wife and 3 sons.
February 22, 1995
On February 13, 1978 Massachusetts State Police Trooper Perley K. Johnson died as a result of smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning several days after investigating a suspicious house fire on Monument Avenue in Bourne.
March 4, 2022
Tamar Anoush Bucci, Massachusetts State Trooper, gave her life in the line of duty on March 4, 2022 while helping a disabled vehicle. Tamar graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy in May of 2020, fulfilling her life-long goal of becoming a State Trooper.
March 11, 2022
Cohasset Police Officer Mark Jenkins passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and worked as a police computer forensics expert for the Cohasset Police department and the United States Coast Guard Investigative Service. He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
