Yesterday marked a meaningful milestone for the families of fallen police officers across Massachusetts as Governor Maura Healey signed into law the Act Honoring Blue Star Families.
This new law creates a Blue Star license plate for the family members of fallen officers, providing a lasting tribute to the sacrifice of their loved ones.
The Hundred Club of Massachusetts is incredibly grateful to have stood alongside the families who advocated tirelessly for this legislation. Many of the families we serve fought for years to make this day possible, and witnessing the bill become law was inspiring.
We are especially grateful to the Tracey family, the Tarentino family, and the Bauregard family for keeping the Hundred Club informed of the bill’s progress throughout the years and for their unwavering dedication to seeing this important legislation become law. Thank you, John Nelson, Frank Frederickson, State Representative Wong, State Representative Steven Xiarhos, and Tim King, for your steadfast support of the Hundred Club of Massachusetts through your membership and for the many ways you continue to stand beside the families we serve. Your advocacy and unwavering commitment to honoring our fallen heroes and supporting those left behind have made a lasting impact on our Hundred Club families
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Representative Tom Walsh, Senator Bruce Tarr, Representative Jessica Giannino, Senator Paul Mark, and Governor Maura Healey for their leadership and commitment to honoring the families of Massachusetts’ fallen police officers.
This day is a victory for remembrance, recognition, and the families who never gave up. The Hundred Club families who worked so hard to see this legislation become law are deeply grateful.
