George Hanna

End of Service: February 26, 1983

Trooper Hanna was shot and killed while searching three suspects during a traffic stop in Auburn. During his search he found a weapon on the first suspect, when the second suspect pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and shot him multiple times. Trooper Hanna, a 9-year-veteran, was 36 and a member of the 58th RTT (1974) assigned to Troop C. He leaves behind his wife and three children.

The Hanna award for bravery is named after Sgt. George Hanna.
