Captain David J. Watts of the Nantucket Fire Department who died in the line of duty. Captain Watts was engaged in active structural fire, fighting for two and a half hours in a multiple occupancy wood frame building that was constructed about 1849. After the fire was controlled, Captain Watts returned home and suffered a heart attack.
