The Hundred Club is incredibly grateful to our members, partners, and donors.
This month we are profiling Mr. Karl Clemmey, a member of the Hundred Club since 1975.
Mr. Karl Clemmey has been a member of the Hundred Club of Massachusetts since 1975. He still has his original Hundred Club membership card along with the 47 cards of every year since. He started to put them in the picture frames after 10 years or so and has continued the tradition ever since. He has another tradition every year when his card arrives and he gets the newsletter, Karl goes straight to the Mansfield Police and Fire departments and gives a copy to the Chiefs to be sure the officers are aware of the organization and the support they offer. Karl also supports the annual Mansfield PD fund raiser and promotes the Hundred club in his ads he submits. He is proud of the work The Hundred Club does to take care of the families of fallen Police and Fire personnel.
Karl first learned about the Hundred Club from Mr. Norman Knight personally. Norman had a tendency to walk door to door to businesses up and down Commonwealth avenue to raise support for the Hundred Club. One day, he walked into Clemmey Inc. in Mansfield and spoke with Karl Clemmey about the Hundred Club’s vision to “care for those who care for us.” That day, he became a lifelong member and has the framed cards to prove it. the years, he has attended many of the gala events and met many good friends and like-minded citizens. He enjoyed seeing the beneficiary families enjoy the social events and scholarships and support from the Hundred Club. He is proud to be a member of the Hundred Club. An organization that steps in to help support the families of our fallen heroes, and never forgets. Some of the beneficiary families have been apart of the Club for over 50 years.
Karl is not only a businessman and entrepreneur, but also a philanthropist. He has spent most of his life contributing to causes that are dear to him. He is the owner of Clemco, LLC a Commercial Real Estate Development Company. He is a lifelong resident and supporter of the town of Mansfield where his recently deceased wife Carole raised their four children, Karl Jr., Elizabeth, Michael, and William. All of Karl’s children are also proud supporters of the Hundred Club.
In addition to being a traditional member of the Hundred Club, Karl is also a business member to help provide more support to the Hundred Club. The mission of the Hundred Club taking care of the families of our fallen heroes has a special place for Karl. His hope and that of his families is that others will support this wonderful organization.
